The ChatGPT desktop app
YouTube Conversation installs inside the ChatGPT app on your Mac—not the ChatGPT website.

Google Chrome
Chrome opens the YouTube page through your own browser session so YouTube does not block a hosted server.

ChatGPT’s Chrome plugin enabled
The Chrome plugin gives ChatGPT permission to retrieve the available timestamped transcript automatically.
Don't have all four yet? YouTube Conversation will not work until they are installed and enabled.
Three steps
From install to first question.
Open the plugin
Visit the official YouTube Conversation listing in ChatGPT.
Click Install plugin
ChatGPT installs YouTube Conversation directly. There is no file to download or installer to run.
Start a new chat
Make sure ChatGPT’s Chrome plugin is enabled, then paste a public YouTube link and your question in the same message.
